From the era of the lack of raw materials (metals and plastics), that is the Second Warld War, comes this very tender, very feminin pair of clip earrings. I bought them in an auction a long time ago. They are very light, made from celluloid, and they compeat in beauty with the real baby blue eyes flowers. As you see their surface is completely mat, like if it is painted with chalk, they don't shine neither in shadow nor under the sunlight. Only their center with the tiny pearls has a subtle lustre.
At first, I didn't know what to do with them. I could see they were beautiful but nothing in my closet was quite suitable for them. I wore them with a pale blue knit, the knit was shining more than them. I wore them with a grey shirt, it was too masculin for a such a delicate flower. So, I made a summer ensemble from raw linen in light grey with mat pale blue buttons on the sides for the trouser, down my chest for the short shirt. This is the matching hat for this outfit, the ribbon has the color of the linen. I think that now the earrings have the garment they deserve in order to show all their potential. They lived from 1940 until now, they won't be wasted in my own closet. It would be a shame.
